Student Enrichment

Jayne is a highly engaging educator with decades of classroom experience.

With a Masters in Curriculum Design and Arts Integration, she uses her guitar, art, and storytelling skills to help children make valuable connections to nature, and early childhood literature.

Children adore her songs, rhymes, games, and animated lessons!

Whether it is finding a way to bring literature to life with outside connections or bringing nature inside to connect it with newly learned early childhood skills, Jayne seems to weave magic into every lesson.

Jayne offers Student Enrichment with a schedule of classroom visits to your program to work with students and to model curriculum strategies for participating staff members:

  • a children’s story and a movement activity to bring the characters to life?
  • a song created about what the group has encountered on a nature walk on the school grounds ?
  • a lesson on the life cycle of a salamander as the space transforms into our own vernal pool ?
  • a game to engage all ages to help make connections with the story and week’s adventures ?
  • an art creation made with “natural treasures” ?
  • a piece of community art with colorful flower petals?
  • a counting activity done with the loose parts collected during a past visit and orchestrated by Jayne’s sidekick puppet, Bertie ?

With guitar and puppets in hand, and perhaps a great story, she will engage the youngest learners!

What would YOU like to happen with your students during her visits?

I had the pleasure of working with "Miss Jayne" at Fledglings Nature-based Preschool. Her ability to create captivating lessons and songs was unworldly! Her songs were so catchy, that we often couldn't get them out of our head!
Miss Jayne always knew how to embrace the curiosity of children and would regularly create activities where the students had to learn from doing. Being an early education teacher, it was apparent that she knew the importance of movement and play in a child's development. Learning was always fun, meaningful, and memorable with Miss Jayne!

Miss Jayne is the absolute best! Hands down the most creative, imaginative, patient person we know. The girls were both lucky enough
to have her as their preschool teacher.

SNAPS N SNAILS: Jayne saw a need for families “stuck” at home during the 2020 Covid pandemic and offered online preschool lessons to help parents monitor learning from home with older siblings and juggle their own work schedule from their dining room table. Snaps N Snails was created offering activities based on a piece of children’s literature and skill practice for future school success.

“Miss Jayne has filled a huge gap in my 5 year olds education. She keeps him engaged, thinking, and learning every day. We started out with 2 classes per week and he loved the program so much that we have moved to 5 days/week. The classes provide structure and educational content to our new life at home. We tried other online programs earlier this year and the class sizes were either too large for an online platform or the instructor wasn't able to hold his attention. It's very difficult to engage with 3-5 year olds online, but Miss Jayne's teaching style and small class sizes have worked out great for us!”
